Overview

This 5-day unified communications course focuses on the design, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of the core components of unified communications. Topics covered in this course include:

• Differences between the Standard and Enterprise editions of Office Communications Server 2007 (OCS 2007) R2
• Instant messaging
• Web conferencing
• Audio/Video conferencing
• Speech Server implementation
• Integration with Exchange Server

Most modules in this course include at least one hands-on lab that let students to work with new concepts covered in that module.

Purpose

After completing this course, students should be able to design, install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot the core components of OCS 2007 R2.

Prerequisites

The ideal student should have knowledge of general networking concepts and a basic understanding of Active Directory, Windows Server 2003, SQL Server 2005, Exchange Server 2007, and Office 2007.

Audience

The primary audience for this course is OCS administrators who intend to design, implement, and manage OCS 2007 R2 as either a stand-alone implementation or as part of a larger unified communications strategy.
