Supervisor Fundamentals
INTRODUCTION

New and less experienced
supervisors will have the opportunity to assimilate dynamic
understandings and skills into their on-the-job performance. They
will discover their favored supervisory style, its implications, and
how it can be expanded in order to be more effective. How can a
supervisor stay balanced and effectively connected on a daily basis?
How can a supervisor match their style with the needs of their
employees?
Participants consider three areas
in which effective supervisors excel. They will learn the ropes
about how to manage people for the best results in human
interpersonal and organizational interactions. They will learn
specifics about what it means to be persons who are paid more for
what their people do than what they do as individual contributors:
managing the business ruthlessly while leading people with genuine
concern. They will identify four levels of employee discretion and
how to unleash the capabilities of their people while managing risk
and cost. A varied toolbox will be provided.
This program lays a solid
foundation to make the mindset and behavioral shift from working as
an employee to being part of a management team.
