Process Improvement Workshop:
A Customer-Supplier Approach
INTRODUCTION
1-2 Days*
In this engaging workshop
participants learn how to manage a portfolio of processes and
improve a particular process while enlisting the support of all its
stakeholders. “Teach ‘em to fish.” Participants will be trained to
conduct the process improvement effort themselves, resulting in
commitment & ownership. They will leave the session with clarity
about what to do & how to make it doable. Unique to the program is
emphasis on understanding the people side of process improvement to
insure success. Ongoing support is available, should you want an
expert to sit-in or facilitate onsite sessions for improvement of a
particular process or processes.
AUDIENCE
This
session is designed for anyone who manages processes, who is tasked
with improving a process or anyone wanting to work more efficiently
within processes and more effectively with stakeholders of those
processes. It is also appropriate for quality personnel, project
managers and engineers. Individual contributors who participate in
this session will understand clearly how they, too, can positively
impact the bottom line of their organization.
BENEFITS
to PARTICIPANTS & YOUR ORGANIZATION
Provides an understanding of basic
dynamics in human interactions, how they impact process improvement
efforts, and how to navigate them successfully.
Provides tools and approaches for
understanding one’s “process portfolio” and preparing for a process
improvement effort.
Learn to understand the “as-is”
state of a process by analyzing: inputs (and suppliers/customers
providing them); outputs (and customers using them); and the current
process activities that transform the inputs to outputs.
Identify process improvement
opportunities by seeing how to determine: gaps between what a
process offers customers and what they need as well as what
suppliers provide a process and what it needs; critical issues in a
process itself.
Determine how to discover the
optimal “should-be” state of a process by: mapping what success
looks like; defining priorities and objectives to get there;
indicating key measures of success.
See how to create a process
improvement action plan.
Provides a template approach for
process improvement efforts.
Acquire a variety of tools and
approaches for working with people during process improvement
efforts.
*This course can be extended to
two days if an organization wants to include an actual process
improvement effort as part of the workshop.
